L'équipe de Réalisation x Smashworks
Smashworks is proud to collaborate with L'équipe de Réalisation for a one of a kind creative process in southern France. Smashworks and artists Dominique Prunier and Pascal Esclarmonde join forces to explore movement, spoken word, live music, and light installation — culminating in a new work to premiere 2025.
The creative process started in December 2023 when company dancer/collaborator Manon Hallay traveled to her hometown of Tarbes, and since then she and Artistic Director Ashley McQueen have continued to create and share ideas virtually with the artists of L'équipe de Réalisation. In June 2024, Ashley and Manon traveled back to Tarbes together to continue the creative process.

404 Inside is an international collaboration between Smashworks Dance (New York, USA) and L’equipe de Realisation (Tarbes, France). Using responsive lights and improvised sound as environment, this multidisciplinary performance tangles with universal dualities of light versus darkness, of sound versus silence, of audience versus performer to examine the deeply personal struggle of radical acceptance versus radical rebellion. Inspired by our differences of age, culture, and background, this evolving work will pull from our own lived experiences and incorporate a multitude of performance disciplines (dance, live music, light installation, theater and voice).
